Red Rose opens the door

Red Rose Mark Lodge No 1594 meets at Hindley, Wigan and despite the Masonic Hall kitchen being out of use, due to a faulty cooker the Lodge had a very pleasant evening with a lovely ceremony of advancement and the introduction of a joining member.
Ken Wilson and Eric Bailey
The candidate on the night was Eric Bailey, a member of Holmes Lodge which meets at the Hall and aptly named as he is the Hall Correspondent for the Wigan Group in the Craft and regular takes photographs for the news pages of the website.

The new joining member was Ken Wilson, a PM of Prodesse Lodge, also of Hindley, who immediately took office as Junior Overseer like a duck to water for the ceremony of advancement, excellently carried out by Ray Pye in the absence of the Worshipful Master, Cyril Phelps.
Keith Woodhall, John Bimpson and Scott Heath
David Webster very ably deputised for the WM, except for the ceremony.

The festive board was a buffet, with kitchen being out of action, but this didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the evening especially three Brethren who are not yet members of the Mark Degree, Scott Heath, John Bimpson and Keith Woodhall, who were made very welcome and from the laughter coming from their part of the table they appeared to be really enjoying the evening. Hopefully, with a bit of TLC we will have more candidates for Red Rose Mark
Geoff Catterall, Arthur Robinson, Malcolm Curry, Ken Wilson, Eric Bailey, Alan Marlowe, Ken Alker and David Webster.
Also present was the newly appointed Provincial Senior Warden, Arthur Robinson, together with Acting Grand Steward, Geoff Catterall, the PGM’s Special Representative Ken Alker and Grand Officers, Malcolm Curry and Alan Marlow.

Red Rose Mark meets on the fourth Monday of November and January and the second Monday in May at Hindley Masonic Hall, Market Street, Hindley. If you’re interested in visiting or you would like to join contact Colin Sharples, Secretary on 01257-251404
